Biofuels
Obligation Scheme

On 1st July 2010, NORA commenced its administration of Ireland's Biofuel Obligation Scheme upon the introduction of the "Energy (Biofuel Obligation and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2010". It was introduced to give effect to the provisions of the Council Directive 2009/28/EC on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources.
